Sir Rod Stewart reveals he secretly battled prostate cancer



LONDON: Sir Rod Stewart has revealed he secretly battled prostate cancer two years ago.

The rocker, 74, told how he was diagnosed with the disease during a routine check-up.

Sir Rod – who is married to Loose Women panelist Penny Lancaster – has now urged men to visit their doctor to get regular tests.

He made the revelation while appearing at a fundraising event with former Faces bandmates Kenney Jones and Ronnie Wood, the Mirror reports.

According to the Prostate Project, cancer kills 30 British men each day.

Nearly 47,000 men in the UK are told they have prostate cancer each year.

He reportedly told the crowd: “Two years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
