Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon title to Budha



KHALANGA: Jumla’s Dhir Bahadur Budha has won the title of the Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon towards the male category.

Dhirendra Bhandari, who is also from Jumla, came out second while Dev Raj Mahatara of Tribhuvan Army Club became third in the marathon organized by Karnali Sports Club Jumla.

President of the Club Saroj Shahi said winner Budha completed the 49-kilometer distance from Jumla to Rara Lake in 5 hours 13 minutes and 39 seconds.

Likewise, Dhirendra completed the marathon race in 5 hours 19 minutes and 38. Similarly, Dev Raj completed the race in 5 hours and 24 minutes.

Ram Maya Budha of Karnali Sports Club of Jumla won the title under the female category.

Manju Rawat, of the same Club, became second and Rojina Bhandari of Number 24 Brigade Jumla became third.

Ram Maya completed the marathon in 6 hours 46 minutes and 35 seconds. Likewise, Manju completed in 6 hours 46 minutes and 40 seconds, and Rojina completed the marathon in 6 hours 46 minutes and 57 seconds.

A total of 61 out of 63 athletes, including five foreign athletes, taking part completed the marathon.

Athletes becoming first, second and third in both the categories were awarded Rs 75 thousand, Rs 50 thousand and Rs 25 thousand respectively along with medals.
