Police, Indian gang exchange fire, one arrested

BHAIRAHAWA: Police have arrested an Indian national following an exchange of fire with an armed Indian gang on Thursday.

Police fired in defense after the gang opened fire at them at Shankarpur border point of Siddharthanagar Municipality.

The arrested is Jhinak Dhobi, 52, of Maharajgunj, India. Police recovered a US-made automatic pistol from his procession.

One Indian national injured in police firing and was taken by the gang members.

Three police personnel were injured in the attack, Rupandehi Police Spokesperson Dharmaraj Bhandari said.
