China slams US move to blacklist Huawei

BEIJING: China has opposed the decision by the US government to blacklist its telecom giant Huawei. Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman said it will take steps to protect its companies.

China strongly opposes other countries imposing unilateral sanctions on Chinese entities, a Commerce Ministry spokesman said, stressing that the United States should avoid further impacting Sino-U.S. trade relations.

US President Doland Trump signed an executive order that bars US companies from using foreign telecoms. The order targets Chinese telecom giant Huawei.
