Closure of accreditation service for smart driving license affects service seekers

KATHMANDU: Service seekers have been hit hard following the government’s decision to stop accreditation of smart driving license.

Service seekers visiting the office for accreditation have faced problems since they are unaware about the closure of this service.

Despite the fact that the government closed the service from September 2018, service seekers have been visiting the Transport Management Office, Ekantakuna every day.

The Office was accrediting smart driving license of other countries after the government started distributing such license from the Ekantakuna office.

According to Office Chief Damber Bahadur Chand, the office now has been accrediting driving license of only the employees of diplomatic missions.

Most of the service seekers are those who have returned from work and studies in foreign countries, according to him.
