NSC announces Rs 3 lakh each to Nepali women volleyball players

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council has announced a cash award of Rs three lakh each to players of the Nepali Volleyball squad that won the Asian Volleyball Confederation in Bangladesh.

Nepali women’s team defeated the Maldives 3-0 in a straight-set in the final match on Thursday.

The decision to this effect was taken by the government to encourage the players, Ramesh Silwal, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, said.

The team, which returned home on Friday, was given a red-carpet welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
