KASKI: Minister for Youth and Sports, Jagat Bahadur Bishwokarma on Sunday vowed to appoint new officials in the district sports committees soon.

Speaking at a press meet here today, Minister Bishwokarma said the vacant posts at the district sports committees and regional sports development committee would get new office bearers once the Sports Act was enforced.

He also informed that the Sports Act was under discussion in the parliamentary Education and Health Committee.

Meanwhile, he maintained that the upcoming 13th South Asian Games to be held in November this year was linked to the country’s prestige.

“The government is putting all its efforts to make the event successful,” he said also adding that the construction of physical infrastructures related to it was going on satisfactorily in Pokhara.

A recent cabinet meeting has endorsed the work procedure on SAG management and operation.
