Flood traps students, teachers in Rajasthan school for over 24 hours

RAJASTHAN: Around 350 students and 50 teachers were stuck at a school in Chittorgarh of Rajasthan for the past 24 hours due to a flood-like situation in the city.

The students got stuck in the school as roads were reportedly blocked owing to the heavy discharge of water from the Rana Pratap Dam, Indian media reports have said.

Locals provided immediate assistance and food to the students and teachers.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted ‘heavy to very heavy’ rainfall in east Rajasthan.

Likewise, incessant rains in Madhya Pradesh also created a flood-like situation in Kota in Rajasthan since the majority of dams were on the edge of overflowing. (Agencies)
