Two killed in Chitwan road accidents

KATHMANDU:  Two men were killed in separate road accidents in East Chitwan on Saturday night.

Saroj Tamang, 25, of Rapti municipality-6 died when a truck bearing Indian number plate (UP 21 CN 3188 JI) hit a motorcycle (Na 12 Pa 4902) he was riding at Martal bridge in Rapti municipality-4 along the East-West Highway.

He died at a local health institution, said the police. Injured in the accident, Utsab Shrestha, the pillion passenger, was receiving treatment at Old Medical College. Likewise, Bikash Shrestha, 28, of Kalika municipality was killed when a tractor (Na 3 Ta 1335) collided head-on with a motorcycle (Na 41 Pa 9849) he was riding at Gaidakhola in Kalika municipality-7.

He died at Chitwan Medical College. Mukesh Poudel, the pillion rider, injured in the accident, was receiving treatment at the hospital, said the police. His health condition is reported to be normal. The police have held the drivers of both the vehicles that met with the accidents and the vehicles.
