Floods sweep away under-construction Huaxin cement industry



DHADING: Floods swept away Huaxin Cement Industry,  a Nepal-China joint venture, which was under-construction at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-2, Talti on Sunday night.

The cement factory was swept away after the level of water in the river in Talti surged due to incessant rains continuing for three days, said Tulasi Jung Thapa, a spokesperson.

Five workers have been trapped due to the night floods. A rescue team from Area Police Office, Gajuri has been deployed to the incident site. The property damaged by the floods is yet to be ascertained. No human casualties have been reported so far.

Huaxin company had started the project at the cost of 15 billion four months ago.
