Woman dies at hospital, relatives accuse docs of recklessness

DADELDHURA: Relatives of a woman have protested at a hospital accusing it of recklessness in operation for childbirth, which they said, caused her death.

Gita Tamrakar, 26, from Amargadhi municipality in the district died of excessive bleeding after 14 days of childbirth at Dadeldhura hospital on Friday.

The family members and relatives of the deceased demonstrated at the hospital and District Administration Office. They also took to the street, blocking the traffic movement since 10:00 am today.

Owing to obstruction, the passengers are stranded on the road.

Tamrakar was admitted in the hospital again on Friday for the severe bleeding. The relatives reiterated that the hospital did a wrong surgery. They have demanded compensation to the victim family and the protection of the newborn.

However, the hospital has said that their blame was baseless.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur KC in the district said although an all-sides meeting had made a three-point agreement after the discussion throughout the night, groups of the victim’s relatives were still agitating.
