NASA to live stream Nepal’s first satellite launch

KATHMANDU: NASA will be live streaming the launch of the first Nepali satellite. The nanosatellite will be launched from a facility in Virginia, USA at NST 2:31 am on Thursday.

The satellite was developed with the support of Kyutech University of Japan under ‘Birds project.’ It is a cross-border interdisciplinary satellite project for non-space faring countries.

The satellite has been named ‘NepaliSat-1’, which is the first of its kind in Nepal. It weighs about 1.33 kg and is just around 30% larger than a Rubik’s Cube.

Along with Nepal, Sri Lanka and Japan will be launching their nanosatellites.
