UP CM Yogi barred from campaigning for 72 hours over hate speeches



NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India today imposed a temporary ban on election campaigning by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath taking note of alleged hate speeches, Indian media reported.

The Election Commission has alleged Yogi for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Yogi Adityanath has been barred from campaigning for the next three days from April 16 in any form of public meetings, media interviews or roadshows.

Likewise, the EC has also barred leader BSP chief Mayawati for 48 hours for violating the code of conduct. (Agencies)
