FMTC to purchase 30,000 metric tons of paddy



KATHMANDU: The Food Management and Trade Company (FMTC) is to purchase 30,000 metric tons of paddy this year.

Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Shreemani Raj Khanal, said that with the determination of the price of paddy by the government, the Company is going to purchase 30,000 metric tons of paddy in the first phase.

The Company had purchased 35,000 metric tons of paddy last year. Khanal said, ‘We have decided to buy 30,000 metric tons of paddy in the first phase. We will again decide about the quantity of paddy to be purchased in the second phase as per demand.”
