Over 1,100 pilots of Jet Airways declare strike



NEW DELHI: Around 1,100 pilots of Jet Airways have threatened to stop flying for the cash-strapped airline from Monday, Indian media reported.

The Indian government has called for an urgent meeting after the pilots declared to stop flying from April 15.

Several employees, including pilots protested against the Jet Airlines over non-payment of salary.

Jet Airways has cancelled all its international flights. The airlines has not only failed to pay full salaries to its employees for months but is also reported to have defaulted on several other payments.

According to reports, the airline is sitting on a massive pool of debt to the tune of over IRs 8,000 crore. (Agencies)
