KATHMANDU: The filing of nominations of the candidates vying for the vacant posts in the local levels in the upcoming by-election is beginning on Wednesday.
The candidates will their nominations from 10 am to 1 pm at the office of the Chief Returning Officers in their respective district headquarters with necessary documents such as citizenship identity cards, according to the Election Commission of Nepal.
Under the local units, by-election is being held for one mayor post, three chairpersons of rural municipality, one vice-chair for rural municipality and 43 ward chairs. The offices of the Chief Returning Officers in those districts where the by-election would be held have been set up on November 6.
The by-election is taking place on November 30 this year to fill the vacant posts of the members to the House of Representatives (HoR), State Assembly (SA) and local level units across the country. Nomination registration for the candidates contesting for the HoR and SA was completed on November 7.
