KATHMANDU: High-level official delegation talks between Nepal and China have begun. Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister KP Sharma have been leading the delegations from China and Nepal respectively in the meeting which is to be focused on all aspects of Nepal-China relations.
The delegation led by Prime Minister Oli comprises senior-officials of the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Home, Energy and Irrigation; Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation while President Xi’s delegation includes Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Chinese Ambassador for Nepal, Ms Hou Yanqi.
Following the talks, bilateral agreements and over a dozen of Memorandum of Understandings are to be signed in the witness of President Xi and Prime Minister Oli.
The Chinese President arrived here on a two-day state visit on Saturday afternoon at the friendly invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. This is the first state visit to Nepal by the Chinese President after 23 years.
