NC hosting tea reception today

KATHMANDU: The major opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC) is going to organize a tea reception today on the occasion of Kojagrat Purnima, the concluding day of the Dashain festival.

NC has been hosting a tea reception on the concluding day of the Dashain since 2035 BS after its prominent leader BP Koirala returned home following his eight years of self-exile in India in 2033 with the national reconciliation policy.

In a continuation of the tradition, NC is going to organize a tea reception on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Deepawali, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals on Sunday.

Tea reception will kick off at 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm at the NC’s central office at Sanepa, Lalitpur, according to the Chief Secretary at the NC’s Central Office Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Poudel shared that political leaders from various political parties, members of the council of ministers, chiefs of the constitutional bodies, parliamentarians, civil employees, chief of the security agencies, heads of the foreign diplomatic missions in Kathmandu, members from the business community will attend the reception.

Similarly, various human rights defenders and leaders from civil society, media persons and well-wishers will also mark their presence in the event, Poudel said.
