120 households reeling under landslide risk in Dolakha



DOLAKHA: As many as 120 houses in different parts of the district have been risked to the landslide triggered by the torrential rains. Millions of property have been destroyed.

According to the police, various settlements are in dire need of relocation.

A landslide occurred at Shailung Rural Municipality-8 destroyed the poultry farming, killing 325 chickens and a goat. The poultry farm was owned by Uddhav Karki.

Sub Inspector of Police, Sete Tamang, informed that six houses got damaged at Charighyang of Bhimeshwor Municipality-3. A poultry farm owned by a local Rabij Tamang was also destroyed by the landslide.

Two houses were buried in a landslide in another place of the same village.

Shailung and Melung Rural Municipalities have been facing a high risk of landslides. More than 112 families have already displaced from there.

The District Police Office has maintained the record that 118 households were at high risk of landslide in Shailung and Melung Rural Municipalities.
