News festival to take place in Lumbini in Nov



LUMBINI: Lumbini Press Club is organizing a news festival in Lumbini on November 17-19 coinciding with the Visit Lumbini Year 2076 and Visit Nepal Year 2020.

A meeting of Lumbini Press Club held in Bangkok decided to hold a three-day festival in Lumbini.

The festival will be participated by representatives and editors of national dailies, televisions, radios, online news sites and international media based in Nepal, informed the Club’s chairperson Dipesh Pacchai.

The Club’s 18-member team is currently in Bangkok in a bid to promote tourism in Nepal.

The festival is said to help create a discourse on the situation of mofussil journalism, the role of journalists on tourism promotion, news writing skills, among others.
