BHIMDUTTANAGAR: Nepal is hosting the 13th South Asian Games, the third time since after 1984, in coming December.

Preparations are going on in Kathmandu and Pokhara for the regional sports event and players selected to represent the country in the Games are in the closed sessions dispersed several areas.

Forty-four players (women and men) have been shortlisted from the Far West State to compete for titles under different genres, according to Far West Sports Training Center director Bishnu Bahadur Singh.

They are competing for titles in taekwondo, boxing, weight lifting, wushu, hockey, kabaddi, handball, wrestling, and karate.  According to Singh, there is much hope that Nepal could clinch a medal in wrestling.

The final selection will be made before one or one and half month of the SAG.  Those players passing the final selection round will be qualified for playing the SAG.
