3 die as landslide buries house in Bhojpur



BHOJPUR: Three members of a family died after a landslide buried their house at Manebhanjyang of Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality in the district.

The deceased have been identified as Man Kumari Rai, her two sons Shiva Kumar Rai and Shakti Kumar Rai. They were buried to death after their house caved in due to landslides while they were staying in the house at 9:45 am today, said Pandav Rajbansi of District Police Office, Bhojpur.

Kumar Rai, Mankumari’s husband, however, escaped death since he was out in the village for some certain family businesses.

Police said an excavator is being taken to the incident site after locals could not retrieve the bodies. Rai’s house was said to be located on a slope.
