Co-driver goes missing as truck plunges into Trishuli river

KATHMANDU: A co-driver went missing after a truck fell into the Trishuli river in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 in Chitwan district at the wee hours of Saturday.

According to District Police Office, Chitwan, an ill-fated truck, Na 4 Kha 1796, heading to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa fell into the Trishuli river from Nagdi rivulet.

Co-driver  Anil Gurung, 25, of Dang, Ghorahi has gone missing, said District Police Office, Chitwan. Truck driver Madhav Thapa, 46, has sustained injuries in the accident.

Thapa is undergoing treatment at Old Medical College, Bharatpur. Rescue work has been hit as the truck is submerged in the flooded river.
