Lightning-induced fire destroys 39 houses

BANKE: Lightning strikes accompanied with gusty winds took a heavy toil on human settlements at Chhotki Chauferi in Duduwa Rural Municipality-1 in the district.

A total of 39 houses were destroyed in the fire triggered by lightning strikes on Wednesday.

The lightning-induced fire gutted Ramkhelauna Yadav’s house and critically injured his 16-year-old daughter, said DSP Prakash Sapkota.

Grains, utensils, clothes among others were destroyed in the fire, said DSP Sapkota said. However, no human casualties were reported.
