LONDON: The UK is heading to the polls for the third general election in less than five years.
The polls, the first to be held in nearly 100 years, follows those in 2015 and 2017.
Polling stations have opened in 650 constituencies across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Counting will begin straight away after the polls close at 22:00 GMT, international media reports have said.
Most results will be announced on Friday morning.
Six hundred and fifty MPs will be chosen under the first-past-the-post system. (Agencies)
