Mercury dips in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: With the minimum temperature dipping, the Kathmandu Valley has witnessed cold in the mornings and evenings for the past few days.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather remained partly to generally cloudy in the eastern hilly region, partly cloudy in the central and western hilly regions and mainly fair in the rest of the country.

The Division said the minimum temperature has hovered around 10.6 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Kathmandu recorded 11.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said that Kathmandu’s temperature could reach to 0 degree Celsius this winter if the current weather pattern continues.

Likewise, the Tarai region could be covered with fog in the days to come.
