Police fire in air, lob teargas canisters in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: Police have opened fire in the air and lobbed a dozen shells of teargas canisters following a clash between people from two communities on Thursday afternoon.

A clash was ensued following a dispute of hosting a flag by a community in a pond near Kudiyabazaar. Likewise, an idol made by the community celebrating Chhath festival was vandalized.

Irate protesters have also vandalized a police vehicle.
