SAPTARI: The blood transfusion center inside Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj, Saptari is reeling under shortage of blood.

“We are struggling to fulfill the demand for blood. Currently, we are making do with blood donated by attendants of patients,” said the center in-charge, Nabin Kumar Jha.

Lack of blood donation programs has also made the matter worse. The hospital requires five to seven pints of blood on a daily basis. Jha urged concerned authorities and organizations to organize blood donation programs to supply blood.
