40 stranded by floodwaters in Balkhu



KATHMANDU: Some 40 people left marooned after floods entered their settlements in Balkhu are waiting to be rescued.

Swollen Balkhu stream has entered the settlements following incessant rainfall since Thursday night. Similarly, Khasibazaar, Land Revenue Office, Traffic Police Office, Police Office and others have been waterlogged.

According to Ministry of Home Affairs, some 16 people have died and 13 others have been injured in incidents of landslide and flood in different parts of the country. Whereabouts of 16 people is unknown.
