CIAA arrests BPKIHS vice-chancellor Rauniyar

DHARAN: Police have arrested vice-chancellor of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) Prof Dr Rajan Kumar Rauniyar on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 800 thousand.

Likewise, Dr. Ramhari Rauniyar of the BPKIHS has also been arrested on the same charge. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) personnel arrested them while they were taking the bribe amount from a service-seeker.

The Rauniyars were seeking commission from a service-seeker for awarding the contract in the construction of a building of the Institute.
