MUMBAI: High-speed winds and heavy rainfall disrupted normal life in Mumbai on Wednesday as Cyclone Vayu hit the coast, Indian media reports said on Wednesday.

According to reports, a severe cyclonic storm is located some 280 km south of Gujarat’s Veraval coast.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the cyclone is likely to cross Gujarat coast as a very cyclonic storm with a wind speed of over 155-160 km per hour around Thursday afternoon.

A person, 65, was killed by the winds and rain in Mumbai today when an aluminum panel hit him. (Agencies)
