Lawmakers question TUTH doctors’ intention



KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have expressed their concern over the tendency of some doctors at the emergency ward of the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) of encouraging patients to go to private hospitals.

Speaking during today’s ‘zero hour’ session of the House of Representatives (HoR), lawmakers drew the Ministry of Health and Population’s attention to stem this nefarious tendency. This trend, they argued, has made a mockery of the government hospital.

They also drew the attention of the government saying that the storm-affected people of the far-west region have not been provided with relief materials. The lawmakers urged the government to introduce a rehabilitation package for the affected families.
