KATHMANDU: A huge  amount of money was misused in the name of voters’ education materials during the elections of local, provincial and federal level elections, bleeding state coffer.

According to the audit report of the Office of the Attorney General, Rs 190 million was was spent in the voters’ education  materials which ultimately did not come into use, reported Naya Patrika.

The Election Commission, Nepal had published model ballot papers worth Rs 117.2 million while the dispute was still underway over its draft.

The Office of the Attorney General is submitting an audit report on third phase of local, provincial, federal and  presidential elections today.
