Nepal vs Kuwait to be played in Bhutan, ANFA confirms

KATHMANDU: Nepal vs Kuwait match under the FIFA World Cup 2020 and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers will be played in Bhutan, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has confirmed.

The match was scheduled to be played in Kathmandu but was shifted after AFC declared the Kathmandu-based Dashrath Stadium unsuitable for the match due to the ongoing reconstruction of the stadium.

Then, ANFA had proposed Bhutan as a neutral venue for the match which was initially refused by Kuwait. It has been confirmed that the match will be now played in Bhutan as Kuwait agreed to the venue.

Nepal, pooled in Group ‘B’, will take on Kuwait on November 19.
