Dengue risk high in Bhaktapur



BHAKTAPUR: The risk of dengue infection has been increasing in Bhaktapur.

A total of 99 dengue patients have been identified in Bhaktapur in a period of one week, according to District Public Health Office.

Parthamani Neupane, Officer at the District Public Health Office said a total of 99 patients have been confirmed infected by dengue till Wednesday morning.

He said the infection rate is increasing as every settlement, and schools are at high risk.

He informed that public awareness programs have been initiated in different parts of the district.

Neupane also suggested to manage pits, and make sure that water is not collected in the surroundings since the mosquitoes transmitting dengue breed in water-filled pits or drains.

According to the Bhaktapur Municipality, a total of 40 patients are from the municipality area only.
