KATHMANDU: The parliamentary Development and Technology Committee has directed the government to not open road tracks without engineering study.

Referring to the environmental degradation and misuse of resources, the committee has directed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport to ‘evaluate’ the topographical condition besides ensuring measures to make the road construction sustainable.

The Committee has also directed the Ministry to reconstruct and repair the roads that have been damaged by the floods and landslide immediately.
