16 passengers injured as bus rams three other buses



KATHMANDU: At least 16 passengers were injured in a road mishap involving four buses at Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur along the Jadibuti-Suryabinayak road section on Sunday.

Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur said that the mishap happened when the bus Ba 4 Kha 5794, en route to Sindhuli from Kathmandu hit three other buses.

According to police, the speeding bus rammed buses Na 6 Kha 7125, Ba 5 Kha 4021 and Ba 3 Kha 7093.

Among the injured ones, 13 are receiving treatment at local Nagarik Hospital and three others at Madhyapur Hospital, said Deputy Superintendent of Nepal Police, Rewati Raman Pokhrel, from Metropolitan Police Premises, Bhaktapur.

Police have arrested the bus driver Deepakraj Thakuri of Sindhupalchowk for the mishap. All four buses have been impounded for investigation.
