Torch rally taken out against halting pesticides test



KATHMANDU: Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of the Nepali Congress (NC), on Thursday, took out a torch rally against the government decision to halt testing Indian veggies and fruits for pesticides.

Police arrested 16 student leaders during the protest at Balaju area and they have been taken to Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju.

NSU has launched a phase-wise protest demanding to test vegetables and fruits imported from India and third countries for pesticides.
