Govt announces Rs 1m for family of youth killed in Sarlahi police firing



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to provide Rs one million relief amount to the family of a youth killed in a police firing in Sarlahi district.

A recent Cabinet meeting decided to that effect, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota said at a regular press briefing on Thursday.

Saroj Narayan Singh of Ishworpur was killed when police opened fire following a clash with the locals blocking East-West Highway on June 30.

Likewise, the meeting decided to bear all the treatment costs for those injured in the clash.
