7 migrants drown as boat capsizes off Greece

ATHENS: At leaser seven migrants, including two children, drowned after a boat carrying 64 people overturned off a Greek island of Lesbos on Tuesday, security officials said.

Another 57 people were rescued in an operation that was still ongoing, the official added. The nationality of the victims is yet to be ascertained.

The incident took place when migrants were attempting to cross the Aegean Sea from Turkey, a short but perilous trip often hit by bad weather.
