KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli is undergoing dialysis at the Maharajgunj-based Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center on Tuesday night.

The prime minister is undergoing dialysis at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the Center on the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) premises.

He will return Baluwatar after undergoing dialysis that will take some four hours to complete, according to Dr. Arun Sayami attending to PM Oli.

Nebulization (a process of administering medicines in the form of mist inhaled into the lung) was performed on the prime minister following his admission at the hospital.

Doctors attending to the prime minister said that he was scheduled to undergo dialysis on Monday which was postponed for today owing to a Cabinet meeting.

The prime minister will undergo regular dialyses at his official residence in Baluwatar from next month, doctors said.

PM Oli is currently under doctors’ monitoring after being discharged on Thursday afternoon after ten days of his admission.

PM Oli, who had gone to TUTH on November 26 for a checkup, underwent appendectomy the same day after he needed an immediate operation.

He received treatment at the Intensive Care Unit at the center during his stay at the hospital. PM Oli also underwent dialysis for his kidney as the kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago has stopped functioning properly.
