CIAA urges Home Ministry to suspend Rijal

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to suspend then chief district officer of Dolakha, Khagendra Prasad Rijal.

Rijal was recalled from Dolakha DAO to the Ministry after he was reportedly found taking bribe money from a service recipient.

According to CIAA spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala, the CIAA urged the Ministry to immediately suspend Rijal as an investigation is underway against him and there were chances of distortion of facts with him in office.

Rijal has been accused of receiving Rs 90,000 bribe money from Kumar Lama Moktan of Mailung Rural Municipality-4 and Rs 21,000 from Udim Tamang and Indra Bahadur Tamang of Kalinchowk Rural Municipality-1.
