AKCAKALE, Turkey: Turkish troops and Syrian rebels attacked Kurdish militia in northeast Syria with airstrikes and artillery.

A cross-border ground operation was also reported.

The attack began some days after U.S. President Donald Trump pulled American troops out of the way, international media reports have said.

The Turkish defense ministry said that the Turkish Armed Forces and Syrian National Army launched an operation as part of the Operation Peace Spring. (Agencies)
