Nepal beats UAE by 160 runs in ACC U-19 Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated the UAE by 160 runs in its last match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Katunayake, Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Nepal has already crashed out of the competition.

The UAE managed to get only 125 runs on the board losing all wickets in 34.4 overs while chasing down the 286 runs target set by Nepal.

While restricting the UAE to 125 runs, Nepal’s Sagar Dhakal grabbed three wickets. Likewise, Rashid Khan, Surya Tamang and Pawan Sarraf took two wickets each.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal’s Rohit Paudel top-scored at 67 runs. Sandeep Jhora and Asif Sheikh contributed 48 and 45 runs respectively. For the UAE, Akasha Tahir and Sanchit Sharma took three wickets each.

The Nepali team will return home on Wednesday.
