Rukum East village reeling without electricity

RUKUM EAST: The entire village of Sinse rural municipality-3 in the district has been reeling without electricity for the past three days.

The 25 kVA transformer set up in the village saw technical glitches that resulted in electricity disruption. But the concerned authorities have remained apathetic to address the fix the transformer in the village having 300 households.

When asked, Dipendra Malla, chairperson of electricity provider, Nawavijan micro hydroelectricity cooperative, said it took at least two weeks to repair the damaged transformer.

“It will be impossible to resume power supply immediately as technicians need to be called from as far as Butwal,” he said.

“How can we live without electricity for so long? The electricity provider must find an alternative,” said a local resident.

As a result, the villagers have been affected in various ways. Electricity-run industries of the village have been shut, and villagers are deprived of using electric suppliers and gadgets.
