New Zealand win India; head to Lord’s for World Cup final

MANCHESTER: New Zealand reached a second straight Cricket World Cup final defeating India by 18 runs on Wednesday.

India was bowled out for 221 with three balls remaining. Chasing 240 to win in the semifinal at Old Trafford, India plunged to 5-3 after 17 balls of the reply.

MS Dhoni made 50 runs, and Jadeja restricted to 77 in 59 balls giving hope for India. However, they were both dismissed.

New Zealand will now play Australia or England in the final at Lord’s on Sunday. (Agencies)
