Two killed in Okhaldunga bus accident

OKHALDHUNGA: Three people have died and 15 others sustained injuries in a bus accident that occurred at Dadhuwa of the district.

The deceased have been identified as bus driver Krishna Bahadur Basnet of Jhapa, Maya Thapa of Solududhkunda Municipality-5 and Lal Bahadur Dhami of Sindhuli. They have died on the spot, said District Police Office, Okhaldhunga.

The accident took place when the ill-fated bus, Me 1 Kha 1891, was heading to Solukhumbu from Kankadvitta of Jhapa.

The four critically injured passengers have been brought to Kathmandu while the rest are receiving treatment at Ghurmi Health Post in Udayapur.

The slippery road is the cause behind the accident, according to police.
