Banke District Administration denies clamping curfew in Kohalpur

KOHALPUR: The Banke District Administration Office has clarified that curfew was not clamped in Kohalpur on Sunday.

Officiating Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Upadhyay said some locations in Kohalpur had been only declared prohibited areas.

Tension had run high in Kohalpur area on Sunday as a student group and locals protested after a truck with registration number plate Na 2 Kha 9459 ran over Prakriti Chand, a seventh-grader at local Tribhuvan Secondary School, leaving her severely injured.

Prohibited area was declared in some locations in Kohalpur to subside down the tense situation and prevent any untoward incident, the District Administration Office stated in a notice it issued on Sunday itself.
