Man dies after being hit by iron rod



KATHMANDU: A man has died after being hit by an iron rod on the Indian border in Bishnu Rural Municipality in Sarlahi district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Bikau Sah of Bishnu Rural Municipality-2, Pakadigoth, said SP Gopal Chandra Bhattarai.

The situation took a nasty turn after the dispute cropped over the ludo match on Thursday night.  Santosh Jha, a local, hit Bikau with an iron rod over a minor dispute in the course of playing ludo game.

Critically injured Bikau breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Narayani Sub-regional Hospital, Birgunj.

The assailant Jha is at large. Police have launched a manhunt to nab Jha.
