US Embassy denies visa to foreign minister Gyawali’s personal sec

KATHMANDU: The United States Embassy in Kathmandu has denied visa to Jit Bahadur Karki, the personal secretary of Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali.

Also a section officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Karki was transferred to the Nepal Consulate in New York, according to ministry sources.

The embassy has, however, informed the MoFA authorities that the visa, which will be a diplomatic one, was rejected as it is yet to receive clearance from Washington.
